The Main Parts of a Blister Packing Machine
A Blister packing machine thermoforms plastic film to blisters, and seals products between the blister and a backing material like paper cardboard, plastic film, aluminum foil or their composite materials.
The blister packing machine is mainly composed of the following parts:
1. Heating station
Heat the plastic sheet to soften it for easy forming. According to the contact methods between the heater and the plastic sheet, there are two heating methods: direct heating and indirect heating. Direct heating is to make the sheet contact with the heater, the heating speed is fast, but uneven, suitable for heating thinner materials. Indirect heating is to use radiant heat, heating close to the plastic sheet, the heating is and even, but the speed is slower, suitable for thick and thin material.
According to the heat source of the heater, there are hot air heating and thermal radiation heating. Hot air heating is to use high-temperature air to spray the surface of the plastic sheet directly. This method of heating is not efficient and not even enough. Thermal radiation heating uses the thermal radiation and high temperature generated by the far-infrared heaters to heat the plastic sheet.
2. Forming station
There are two ways of blister forming, blow air forming and vacuum forming.
Blow air forming method blows the heated plastic film to form blisters by compressed air. It can form good quality blisters and suitable for most of blisters.
Vacuum forming method vacuum the air between heated plastic film and molds to form blisters. It is suitable for shallow blisters and thinner materials.
3. Sealing station
The sealing part seals the blister with back material ((made of cardboard, plastic film, aluminum foil or their composite materials).
According to material of blister and back plate, the sealing part adopts heat sealing, high frequency sealing or ultrasonic sealing.
